One Week of Danger by The Virgins practically says it all, but there is lots going on in Seventeen Candles and the music does a great job of keeping up with this bunch. Blair has flashbacks of her night in the limo with Chuck and the song repeats itself again as Chuck catches up with Blair in his limo.
As there is a birthday to celebrate, Blair’s, there is plenty of peppy music and Birthday themed tunes to go around, including Birthday Song by The Shapes banging out on the drums as Dan and Serena get breakfast at the same place Vanessa just started working. Concerned that Dan is sharing too much with Vanessa, Serena talks to Blair about her relationship and gets some misguided advice.
Knowing that his relationship is beyond repair with Blair, Nate listens to Rich Girls by The Virgins. His mother interrupts him soon after and tells him to give Blair the family ring. As Nate contemplates giving Blair the ring he runs into Jenny who is willing to walk and talk with him, How We Breathe by Pinback plays softly in the background.
Upset about everything that has gone on and what he feels is his mother’s disregard for the family Dan confronts his mom to the tune Whenever We Finish by Two Hours Traffic. Dan decides to take Vanessa with him to Blair’s party because he wants Vanessa and Serena to attempt to get along, How We Breathe comes back on for their arrival. When Serena assures Dan that she will try to get along with Vanessa Fernando Pando by The Virgins comes on and continues until Serena rocks out to Free Bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd on Guitar Hero.
When Blair realizes that Nate is not going to show up she runs away from the party and How Does it Feel by Eskimo Joe plays. Later when she has cooled down some Chuck gives her his gift and Radio Christiane by The Virgins picks up as the two begin making out.
