Everyone is busy keeping up appearances, and no one is trying harder than Chuck with the help of his father as they prepare to host their annual brunch. As the prep progresses Hit Me Up by Gia Farrell gets you ready for the party with its fast dance beat. Before Dan can go back into that crazy world though, he talks to Jenny about her run in with Chuck, meanwhile Stick With Me Kid by The Broken Remotes plays.
As a phone montage plays so does Shut Up and Drive by Rihanna, a truly appropriate song for the hectic and involved lifestyles these kids lead. The song will repeat again when everyone is involved in a confrontation during the Brunch right after feels it is her job to inform Dan of Serena’s past.
When Did Your Heart Go Missing? by Rooney plays as Serena and her mom fail to connect and annoy each other. Later when Serena asks Dan to stay for the brunch The Ballad of Gus &Sam by Ferraby Lionheart tells the story of Dan and Serena to a tee. You just know things are not going to go good though once Tell Me Bout It by Joss Stone starts playing as Dan and Serena get ready to enter the dining room where the brunch is being held.
From Gym Class Heroes comes The Queen and I when Chuck tells Blair to take Nate up to his suite knowing that Serena will be waiting for Nate as well. Chuck’s dad also criticizes him to the song, but it really does not phase Chuck as he is more concerned with causing a scene between Blair and Serena.
To end it all is Believe by Bravery, a very dramatic song that plays while Serena is tossing her phone in the trash following another text message from Gossip Girl.
