It’s Christmas time in the city and everyone is busy getting ready for the big day, the school is hosting its annual fundraiser with musical accompaniment from The Constance Billard Choir. A jazzy version of Santa Baby fills in the silence as the girls bop and dance to the fun tune. Other Christmas songs like O Coma All Ye Faithful and O Christmas Tree by The Plush Interiors follows the Humphrey family around as they get ready for Christmas morning.
When Rufus finds out that Alison is still talking to her neighbor Alex, whom she had an affair with, he confronts him and the song Stuck for the Summer by Two Hours Traffic plays on. I wasn’t quite convinced that the tune itself fit, but the lyrics do a good job of meeting the mood that Rufus is probably in at this moment.
While Blair is trying hard not to enjoy the day with her family Christmas Alphabet by The McGuire Sisters plays, trying to make the most of the situation with its optimistic beat.
Dan and Serena find themselves stumped over what to give each other for Christmas, and with the new rules Dan attached it is even harder. Christmakwanzakah by The Dan Band bops in as Dan is trying to figure out what to get Serena with Jenny’s help. Out of ideas herself, Serena goes to Vanessa for help and Deck the Halls by The Republic Tigers slowly builds as Vanessa begins thinking about another great gift for Dan.
Both Dan and Serena realize that they got each other the perfect gift once they get together to exchange them, and The General Specific by Band of Horses rings out their excitement. When Alison tells Dan and Jenny that she and Rufus will not be staying together The Weepies, All I Want fills in the bittersweet moment.
