Hey Gossip Girl fans, am I the only one that actually misses it? I miss the blasts that shake things up at the most inopportune moments. The occasional witty remarks are great, but I like to have the complete package when I watch Gossip Girl.
"Enough About Eve" season 3 episode 6 tests friendships and relationships alike. What makes this episode explosive is that it disrupts all the relationships we finally began to consider stable.
Serena tries her hand at a card game to save Carter but comes up short. With Nate as her financial backer, she's devastated at the outcome. She later discovers that she wasn't the only one gambling on someone. Trip is running for congress and Nate is helping with his campaign, against the Buckleys of course. Am I the only Gossip Girl fan that thinks this reeks of personal vendetta?
Olivia finds herself caught between a Blair and Vanessa showdown. Both girls covet giving the prestigious Freshman Toast, and Olivia is nothing more than a casualty, so they think. Vanessa tries to play mean girl but doesn't stand a chance against Queen B. Vanessa's Toast determination jeopardizes her friendship with Dan. Blair possibly gambles too much when she involves Chuck in the game.
On the plus side, Lily and Rufus are doing great!
While Gossip Girl music typically accompanies the action brilliantly, the music from this episode seemed more like background music. This week's songs and artists include: The Replacements' "Achin to Be", Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros' "Home", Kish Mauve's "I'm in Love with Your Rock 'n' Roll", Meeting Places' "We're All the Same" and "Wings Undone", Dirty Secrets' "Strangers", White Lies' "Unfinished Business", and Astrudo Gilberto's "The Gentle Rain" (RJD2 Remix).
