Gossip Girl Episode 22 - Season Finale - Last Tango, Then Paris
Saturday, 22 May 2010

Gossip Girl Episode 22 - Season Finale - Last Tango, Then ParisShame on you if you didn’t watch Gossip Girl’s season finale. The crazy drama is at its best with Lily, Rufus, and Eric being the only stable characters. Dorota has her baby, and that’s where this Gossip Girl episode’s joy comes to a screeching halt.

Still not over Nate, Jenny takes a picture of Dan and Serena in bed together. She outs her own brother to Gossip Girl.

It gets better! Little J loses the big V to Chuck, only to see him get back with Blair hours later. A girl can only take so much in her young life. Luckily, she can count on her big brother. Dan sucker punches Chuck so hard I literally cringed.

Just as I’d convinced myself that Georgina was in the episode for no real reason, she pops up knocked up. Dan can’t catch a break.

Chuck and Blair are over. Serena and Nate are over. Vanessa and Dan should be over. Serena and Blair go to Paris, and Jenny decides to live with her mom.

In the most wicked ending ever, Chuck gets shot and is lying alone in the street bleeding.

Gossip Girl music from this week’s episode has six dead-on artists contributing Gossip Girl songs. The five artists and songs that made the cut are Thao’s “You’ve Really Got A Hold On Me,” Oliver North Boy Choir’s “Teenage Lust,” Crooked Fingers’ “Under Pressure,” Eastern Conference Champions’ “Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright,” Lights On’s “Dead Man’s Party,” and Serena Ryder’s “The Funeral.”

Gossip Girl Episode 21 - Ex-husbands and Wives
Saturday, 15 May 2010

Ex-husbands and WivesGossip Girl fans, it was hard not gagging at Serena’s childish adoration of William. She’s also giving Rufus massive doses of attitude since her talk with Holland. Rufus calls Holland up to clear his name, but she announces to everyone that she and Rufus slept together.

Speaking of doses, Chuck uses his clout to dig up information about Lily’s pills. He discovers they're not for treating lymphoma. He and Jenny team up to go find Blair, who happens to be on a date with the hottie from the loft party. Blair refuses to help, only to have her date interrupted again by Nate and Dan. They all join together to bring the conniving doctor and his lying, Rufus-obsessed accomplice down.

Couple swap! Dan helps Serena confront her father, leaving Jenny and Nate to themselves. Vanessa has only been gone for one episode. Basically, Dan and Serena help the man that tried to replace Rufus and was unnecessarily medicating Lily.

Blair finally gets to finish her date, but Chuck gives her a final love ultimatum beforehand. We’ll have to watch Gossip Girl next week to see if they get back together.

If you were left craving more music from Gossip Girl after last week, I’m sorry to say that the Gossip Girl music from this episode is just as limited. Gossip Girl songs from this episode include the Gui Borratto remix of Massive Attack’s “Paradise Circus,” Zebra’s “Beach House,” Massive Attack’s “Paradise Circus” featuring Hope Sandoval, and Pricilla Renea’s “Mr. Workplace.”

Gossip Girl Episode 20 - It’s a Dad, Dad, Dad, Dad World
Saturday, 08 May 2010

Gossip Girl Episode 20 - It’s a Dad, Dad, Dad, Dad WorldThe treachery is thick in this week’s Gossip Girl episode. Then again, that’s why we watch Gossip Girl.

Dan and Vanessa are still tense. While Dan is setting boundaries over who gets to claim which artistic endeavors, he’s caught unaware when Vanessa is offered a three-month internship to Haiti.

William invites everyone to the doctors without borders gala. In his acceptance speech, he proclaims his love for his family and his regret for leaving them. He obviously has no regard for Rufus and Lily admits that his speech may have crossed the line.

Serena is trying to redraw borders of her own. With some new intel courtesy of their downstairs neighbor, she is armed and ready to take down Rufus. I’m sorry. I must have missed the episode when Serena became the healthy relationship expert.

Jenny is confronted by a disgruntled former client. The pills she bought from Jenny weren’t oxycodon like they were labeled. Jenny does a quick Internet search and believes she has found evidence further suggesting that Lily’s medication isn’t on the up and up.

Blair is kicking herself for not applying to Columbia. Imagine her surprise when she finds out someone already applied for her. Score one for Chuck.

Gossip Girl music from this week’s episode is limited with only five artists contributing Gossip Girl songs. The five artists and songs that made the cut are Scanners’ “Salvation,” Neon Trees’ “Animal,” Last Gang’s “Forever Young,” We Are Scientists’ “Let’s See It,” and Cold War Kids’ “Audience.”

Gossip Girl Episode 19 - Dr. Estrangeloved
Saturday, 01 May 2010

Gossip Girl Episode 19 - Dr. EstrangelovedI could not wait to watch Gossip Girl this week and see how Lily explains away her lies. Lily, Serena, and William are back in town. If you’re not following, William is Serena’s dad! After all her globe trotting, he comes to New York. William has been and will continue treating Lily. Rufus is understandably jealous. William may not be as noble as he seems when we see him make a shady phone call to someone about Lily’s prescription.

Blair throws a party to prove she’s back on the dating scene. No one shows up as Chuck has blackballed her from the dating scene. Blair proves that she is the bigger person when she refuses to resort to games at a party to make him jealous. Way to go, Blair!

The truth is out! Jenny is finally exposed to Nate, but not how she intends. Serena shows up, full of truth and insight, and Jenny is left as an afterthought. Willa exposes Dan’s feelings about Vanessa taking his spot in the writing program.

Music from Gossip Girl is equally distributed this week, with each artist only contributing one song to this Gossip Girl episode. This week’s Gossip Girl songs are Bear’s “Two Weeks Grizzly,” Telegraph Canyon’s “Lost Faith,” Two Hours Traffic’s “Put Your Hands Up,” Holly Miranda’s “No One Just Is,” White Rabbits’ “Percussion Gun,” Wait Think Fast’s “Been This Way Too Long,” Discovery’s “Slang Tang,” Monsters are Waiting’s “Sleep Tight,” and The Phenomenal Hand Clap Band’s “Dim The Lights.”

Gossip Girl Episode 18 - The Unblairable Lightness of Being
Monday, 19 April 2010

Gossip Girl Episode 18 The Unblairable Lightness of BeingIf you didn’t watch Gossip Girl last week, you missed the source of the relationship drama in this episode. There is no balance of relationship bliss versus relationship horror.

In the only blissful relationship, Dorota and Vanya are getting married before her parents come to town. Seeing an opportunity to tug at Blair’s heart, Chuck volunteers to pay for their traditional Polish wedding. If that wasn’t enough, he also jumps at Dorota’s request that he and Blair be the happy couple that walks her down the aisle.

Chuck’s antics, coupled with Dan’s attempt at a pep talk, help Blair realize that she and Chuck are two-of-a-kind. Unfortunately, she also realizes she hates who she has become since being with him. The game is over for Chuck. Blair quits.

Serena and Nate rapidly decline from their power couple status when Serena starts sneaking around with Carter. Serena’s sneakiness must be genetic. After kicking Carter to the curb, Serena goes searching for her father but finds her mother instead. Serena may have found Lily, but Rufus is looking for her. Sadly, he may not like what he finds.

Amazing Gossip Girl songs from this episode include The Champs’ “Midnighter,” Santina’s “Full Moon Kiss,” The Dead Weather’s “Rocking Horse,” The Big Pink’s “Velvet,” and Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson’s “The Sound.” The only thing better than music from Gossip Girl is Gossip Girl music from Gossip Girl cast members. Leighton Meester’s “Your Love is a Drug” is also featured in this Gossip Girl episode.
