Blair is trying to deal with the fact that she slept with Chuck Bass and plan her birthday at the same time. In the meantime, Jenny is preoccupied with something other than Blair for the first time, her mother, who she asks to return to the city with her.

Things are tense all over town though, Rufus is not happy that his wife is back or that Jenny asked her back unannounced. News of Nate’s father being arrested for embezzlement and fraud make the front page and Blair wants to call Nate, but her mother is worried about her image and her Bendell’s deal. At the same time that his parents are telling him that it is none of his business they are pressuring him to make a bold move at Blair’s birthday party by giving her the family diamond.

One Week of Danger by The Virgins practically says it all, but there is lots going on in Seventeen Candles and the music does a great job of keeping up with this bunch. Blair has flashbacks of her night in the limo with Chuck and the song repeats itself again as Chuck catches up with Blair in his limo.

As there is a birthday to celebrate, Blair’s, there is plenty of peppy music and Birthday themed tunes to go around, including Birthday Song by The Shapes banging out on the drums as Dan and Serena get breakfast at the same place Vanessa just started working. Concerned that Dan is sharing too much with Vanessa, Serena talks to Blair about her relationship and gets some misguided advice.

The heat has been turned up!  Week after week gossipgirl has been getting more and more interesting and finally we have seen one of the hottest scenes of gossipgirl history.  If you have already seen episode 7 titled "Victor, Victrola" of gossipgirl you already know about Chuck and Blair!  From the very first episode of Gossipgirl they played out Chuck & Blair as being just friends.  Well from the end of episode 7 it seems like things are going to be a bit more complicated for these new found lovers!

Victor Victrola is all about Chuck and his world, with a little bit of everyone else sprinkled in, so it only makes sense that the music is hot and heavy. Stripper by Sohodolls sets things off as we watch Chuck focus all his time and energy on a dancer that is performing just for him. Funny enough, a little later Blair is dancing to the exact same song after Chuck dares her to take to the stage.

Chuck’s excitement about his new business venture is apparent as So They Say by Classic plays while he is pitching his idea for a burlesque club to Blair. Later Release by Miss Eighty 6 plays as Bart criticizes Chuck’s pitch for the club and tells him to get back to studying if he wants to impress him.

In an attempt to get into his Dad’s line of business and earn his father’s respect, Chuck scouts out a club that he wants to turn into a Burlesque club and drafts up a proposal. Nate’s mother tells him that he has to go to a treatment facility for the addiction she thinks he has, but his dad tells him not to worry about things because he is going to stop using.

Jenny is busy looking for the bracelet she borrowed under Blair’s name, not knowing that Blair already has the bracelet and knows that Jenny was at the Masked Ball. At school Nate corners Jenny so that he can ask her to keep quiet about what he said to her at the ball and the kiss they shared. Before they can finish their conversation though, Blair interrupts and Nate gives the chocolate to Blair instead saying it is his apology.
